How to choose the best auto repair shop

Nevertheless, understanding the capabilities of the repair center is a very important factor while finalizing a service provider. A good repair shop would be able to cater to all the needs of your car. They wouldn't just be a pro in catering to oil change needs, but can also handle all the repairing needs as well.
They must also be able to provide services to all kinds of vehicles. Some of the industry specialists are capable of handling Nissan Auto Repair, Lexus Repair and Honda Repair, to name a few. The car repair company must also be honest in their dealings and shouldn't be looting you over petty repair bills. In addition, keep a regular check on whether the company installs genuine auto parts in your car or not. The replaced part must be of good quality that will enable your car to remain problem free for long. Moreover, if your car keeps on breaking down and you are fed up of sending it to garage for repairs, it is quite possible that the mechanic might be fooling you. Therefore, immediately search for a diamond certified repair center and get tension free of all your car repair needs!

Right to choose auto repair shop?
Can anyone tell my what my rights are as far as choosing where I want my car repaired when it is being paid for by someone else's insurance company? I live in WI. Links/documentation would be great if you have anything handy.
The damage is fairly straightforward; just a minor fender bender. I had an estimate done at a shop recommended by my brother-in-law, who is also in the car business (he builds and restores engines). Now the insurance company wants to discuss my "options" about getting it fixed. I just want to be prepared if they try and tell me I have to go to a certain place.

Head gaskets/cracked head?
My truck (2000 ford ranger) has been over heating recently. Every time I drive a certain distance it starts to over heat I pull over for about a minute or two it goes down and then its fine the rest of the time. I do not have any milky looking stuff in my oil, no water in the cylinders (spark plugs), no white smoke in tailpipe, my heater works but I feel like it makes the over heating worse so I don't use it. The radiator bucket does have brown liquid in it meaning it could be oil from what I have researched and I do have water coming out of my exhaust pipe. Also I am losing water in my radiator. Other then the over heating my truck runs fine! I have done a lot of research and people say if it were a cracked head my truck would run badly or not run at all. I have taken it to two people now, the first guy said my head gaskets were blown but he was also interested in buying my truck so I am not sure if I should trust his opinion the second guy said its "probably a cracked head". Probably! And the only way to tell is to take it off so Id end up having to replace it even if the head wasn't cracked. So I am looking for some advice, does it sound like it could be head gaskets or a cracked head? I plan on taking it in to get it diagnosed for a 3rd opinion should I tell the people at the auto repair shop whats been going on or let them figure it out for themselves? Getting gaskets fixed is very pricey and I don't want someone saying it is the problem just to make the money when really it is not. I'm a girl who knows nothing about cars! I am also not in a very good money situation right now so I really can't afford to be screwed over by a mechanic. Any help or advice at all would be greatly appreciated!
My brother replaced my thermostat today and it fixed the over heating issue so should I assume its not the head gaskets? When I was driving home I heard a pop sound come from the engine and it turned out my radiator coolant cap had popped off so I think maybe something is clogged....not to sure. Just glad its not over heating at the moment!!
Ohhh and not sure if this is important but it wasn't like boiling or anything, I stuck my finger in the water and it was fine so I am assuming it is popping off because of pressure. But I am not a mechanic so I am not sure.
