New Car Discounts: The Best Deal For You
Purchasing a new car is both an exciting and stressful experience. You must know what you can afford, and then try to find a car that fits that budget. Did you know that at dealerships these days, it's possible to get more car for your money? It's true! There are several discounts on new cars available to you. It's up to you to know what discounts on new cars you can expect to be offered. I would like to share with you several new car discounts, and what you need to know to get them.
New Car Discount #1: Internet Pricing Several dealerships offer special Internet pricing. In order to get this discount on a new car, you need to visit the dealership's website prior to making a trip to the dealership and inquire on the new car you want. Typically there is a certificate you can print off and take to the dealership with you. I purchased my truck using the Internet. I went out to the nearby Toyota dealership and found what vehicle that I wanted and then made an inquiry. The result was that I got a brand new truck for about $2, 500 less than the sticker price. Considering I purchased the base model with automatic transmission and air conditioning this was a great deal. The more loaded the vehicle you choose and the higher the purchase price of the car, the better your Internet deal will be. New Car Discount #2: Manufacturer Family Discount Car manufacturers typically give those who work in their factories and their families a discount on new cars. Many times, the dealerships will extend this discount to those who aren't families of those working for the manufacturer during special sales. Given the current climate for purchasing new cars, chances are you can talk your dealership in to offering this discount. All you have to do is ask. New Car Discount #3: Special Finance Rates A great discount on a new car is a special finance rate. For instance, some manufacturers are currently offering 0%-2.9% financing on the purchase of certain new cars. If you must finance this purchase, as most people do, these special deals will save you a lot of money. If you can buy your new car outright, then oftentimes the dealership will shave extra off the purchase price in lieu of the special finance rates available to qualified buyers. New Car Discount #4 Special Trade Deals If you have an older car to trade in, you can sometimes get a better deal on your new car. One great example is the Cash-For-Clunkers program where the government will pay you up to $4, 500 to trade in your gas guzzler for a new set of wheels. This money doesn't come out of the pockets of the dealerships - so you might be able to negotiate a superb deal when combined with the Cash-For-Clunkers program. New Car Discount #5: Maintenance Programs Certain dealerships will throw in complimentary oil changes for a certain amount of time -usually the warranty period. This may not bring down the cost of the vehicle, but it is a way to save money by purchasing a new car. I just had the oil changed in my truck at the Toyota dealership, and it cost about $75. If you get four oil changes per year, that would be an annual savings of $300 - over $20 per month! Some manufacturers such as BMW offer free maintenance during the warranty period. I asked a BMW salesman what that meant, and he said that meant they covered everything except for flat tires for the standard 4 year/50, 000 mile warranty period BMW currently offers.
