Buying Extended Auto Warranty
Buy Extended Auto Warranty
When the factory warranty of a car is going to expire ( usually 3 years after the original purchase or after 36000 miles whichever comes first - some manufacturers can offer longer warranties ) most of us think about purchasing an extended warranty.
Until the factory warranty is valid you have peace of mind: if something breaks one of the manufacturer repair shops will fix the broken part at no cost for you, but after the warranty expires you have to pay for every repair, you'll have to pay to have anything fixed, be it a small or big expense.
As long as we talk about minor repairs like a broken windshield wiper, a door handle or something else of the same extent there are no problems, we're talking about repairs that won't hurt, but when something expensive has problems your wallet gets lighter in a finger snap.
Imagine if you had to pay for a new engine because your one just blew up? Or what about having to pay for a new engine control unit or a new air conditioning system? You probably don't know how expensive such replacements can be, but we're well over few hundred dollars, with many engines of luxury cars, sports cars and SUVs costing more than $10000.
As if it wasn't enough to all these repairs you obviously have to add labor cost: you know that mechanics aren't cheap and when they deal with major fixing the car takes several hours.
With an extended warranty coverage any repairs that your car might need will be paid by the warranty and not by you.
More and more people decide to buy extended auto warranty because having to pay for a single major breakdown would cost you way more than the yearly premium you pay for this coverage, moreover repairs for newer cars tend to be more expensive than in the past because always more technology is involved, mechanics need to attend courses and buy expensive tools to troubleshoot and fix your vehicle's problems.
An extended car warranty can be purchased in two different ways:
- At the dealership if you're buying a used car.
This method is popular mostly because buyers don't know that there are cheaper options.
- Buying an aftermarket auto warranty online.
This is the smartest way to buy extended auto warranty: you purchase the warranty directly from top warranty companies, you pay less ( the warranty sold by the dealership is simply one of these warranties resold to you including a commission that can be as high as 50% of the final price ) and, thanks for comparison services, you can compare quotes from multiple warranty companies so you know you're getting the best coverage at the best price on the market: moreover you don't have the dealer's pressure.
Comparing quotes from multiple companies is easy, free and can be done online in few minutes: you can even take advantage of the support of a warranty expert that will call you and help you find the best rates and the best coverage for your car.
These agents are warranty experts in charge of matching you with the best coverage among the plans available from several warranty companies.

Should I Buy Extended Auto Warranty?
Hello Everyone,
I am completely torn on this topic. I recently bought a 2006 BMW 330I and when I bought it, it had 43,000 miles and now it has 50,000 miles and it is out of warranty with BMW. I just had a problem with the adeptaive headlights and I got it fixed for $1,200. I have been looking online for extended warranties and i see so many blogs about companies not making out the payment and or scamed them out of there money. Can someone please tell me how do I go by picking a good company and if they could please recommend a company, is it even worth it getting a warranty? The rep at BMW said its not worth it. I would like to put my mind at ease with a warranty but if they do scam people than i would rather just put some money aside every month incase I do need to fix it.
Thank you,

What is the benefit from buying extended auto warranty from the car dealer over an online company?
I have the option to buy extended auto warranty. Are there benefits to buying it from the car dealer? I feel I'm getting more for my money if I purchase it on my own, from a reputable company online.
