4X4s has anyone else found that Chrysler servicing and dealership service in the U.K. is seriously lacking?
Chrysler Daimler Benz owner. A Jeep Cherokee/Liberty that has caused absolutely untold problems and a servicing agent that unremittingly crap. They had our car for the whole day to do a 1 & 1/2 hour job (a recall one involving the suspension with the message "no need to worry unless you go full lock on the steering and then it won't come back" and then rang at 12 midday to say that they ccouldn't find the wheel nut key (which is in the same place as last month when they changed a wheel and I imagine the same place it is in in all Jeep Cherokee/Liberty models ). We now have to use the house's second car which is a very old Ford Fiesta (93) to do the thrity odd miles in to work tomorrow on top of today. I know this is a rant but are all certified Jeep dealers in the U.K. this rubbish?

89 Chrysler ...3 L Mitsubishi....tailpip smoking;valve stem seals...what to do?
Hi I have an 89 Chrysler New Yorker with a 3.0 L Mitsubishi engine..140k....smoking out of tailpipe....compression is apparently fine as it has plenty of punch..no compression test done formally...Chrysler service mgrs have suggested it is probably not rings but instead valve stem seals from overheating in past. They've told me I probably need new or reconditioned heads after I run a formal compression test to rule out rings as a sourece of the smoking. In the meantime, does "Restore" or any similar products help with the smoke -it's embarrassing!...any other ideas? Any ideas on how to get reconditioned heads(junk yards?, etc) in Colorado or midwest....how much can I expect to spend on parts and how long might it take to repair(cost, you know)? Also..passive heat(not switched on) is always on in the car....has been that way since they fixed the ac a year ago.....can't shut it off!.?...hotter than hates! ..any ideas?

3.0 L Mitsubishi Chrysler.........valve stem seals....and heater prob?
Ok, Great answers from you about my probable valve stem seal problem. So now it appears that the blue smoking out of my tailpipe is probably due to valve stem seals(rubber). Chrysler service noted this too. After talking to Napa this afternoon, and apparently finding out that the heads don't have to be removed to replace the valve stem seals...take off the valve cover gaskets...and there is a tool that is used to pull out the intake and out-take valve stem seals.....I've been told it's a three or four hour job for somone with experience. Napa says the seals(12) are about two bucks each.so not much as far as parts go....good mechanic can appretnly do this and wants to make money off the seals(maybe five buck each) if they order them for me -that's fine...no problem! Does this make sense to you all? What else do I need to be aware of?....this is assuming the compression and rings are all ok. BTW...heater is passively on all the time.....switches and fan are ok...how to fix?
