16 Jul 2008 at 5:33am Bamako Orphanage Car Donation
Unknown length - Jul 16, 2008My children collected spare change to donate to the Salvation Army. My wife parked at the curb in front of the bucket and left our two year old locked in a warm car only feet away, within eyesight... 4 minutes later she was in handcuffs in the back of our car while the Crestwood Illinis police abandoned our other children From UK to Mali, 4,500 miles across desert etc. to reach Bamako and donate cars to ophanage. 31 May 2008 at 11:21pm Shanghai Charity Race: Jet Li's One FoundationZhuangDaoBai
3 min - Jun 1, 2008I donated my time (editing, writing...) to the group who helped organize this event and received two free VIP tickets. The event was an F1 and sports car race for Jet Li's Charity - the One Foundation. The race was in Shanghai on May 25. There were many movie stars present, and they raced against each other in final race. Jet Li waved directly at me several times - hard to miss the only American in the crowd ;-). The movie stars were good sports, but many were not good drivers. It was fun watching them bump each other and "trade paint". A thin actress from Hong Kong won the race - she was a real gear jammer. Jet Li (Li LianJie) is really an honorable guy, and many people in China are donating to his charity because they know he will deliver the money to the people. He has set up an office in SiChuan to work directly with the people. It was a great event for a very great cause. Donate to the Red Cross if you cannot donate to the One Foundation.

12 Mar 2008 at 1:25pm GoodBye Cadillac!LandInMyFuture
2 min - Mar 12, 2008I decided that with the raising cost of gasoline, and due to the fact that the second car was pretty much sitting idle most of the year - that I would donate my 1983 Cadillac DeVille to charity - specifically the National Kidney Foundation of Maryland. This video shows the Cadillac being hooked up to the tow truck and be towed away into the sunset (so to speak) on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Hopefully - it will raise alot of money at the auction next month because it's an "historic" vehicle now - and I picked the charity I did because my Dad had Kidney Failure (from Diabetes) - which is ultimately what killed him - so this charity seems to be a fitting tribute to honor my father one last time. I've had the Cadillac since my Dad passed away in 1999 - so it was a little sad to see it go!
