New Car Extended Warranties
The extended warranties market is flourishing and you will find a lot of offers on the market for your new car. Remember to check if your vehicle needs one before you buy. Generally, new cars do not require an extended warranty, because today most new cars come with a good warranty for 36, 000 miles or three years, which has now become standard. Some expensive brands have a four-year, 50, 000 mile warranty.
Cars are kept for longer periods, and wear and tear and other mechanical failures can be expensive. Here the extended warranties come in handy. There are different levels of extended warranties, ranging from the ones that cover only mechanical breakdowns to others that cover even minor problems. They can be thus broadly classified as luxury coverage warranties, exclusionary auto warranties and intermediate auto warranties.
Most extended warranties for new cars provide bumper-to-bumper coverage, and some plans covers luxury parts like the GPS/navigation, DVD/entertainment systems, phone and Internet access systems, and the emission system. The bumper-to-bumper warranties cover all the parts of your vehicle. These warranties do not cover only some excluded items. The warranty companies provide these lists. These types of warranties are good buys. The intermediate warranties cover ABS, power, turbo etc. They have more advantage than the basic car warranties. Some warranties charge extra for high tech systems like the ABS, sensors, and emissions systems. But beware; the dealers can trap you giving a long list of advantages of the extended warranties, through which they get a better deal.
Looking for an aftermarket extended auto warranty. Any Recommendations?
My GE auto warranty just expired. I called GE to see if I could extend it or purchase another contract, but they only do point of sale contracts. I have received letters from United Warranty Wholesalers offereing me coverage, but I have never heard of them and they don't have a web site. Anyone ever heard of them? Are they legit? I have a 2001 Camaro SS with 84,000 miles. I have not had any problems with it, but I am getting into the mileage range where things start to happen. Does anyone know of any other good extended auto warranty comapanies?

Did the Dealer have to add a Warranty which added cost to my price, if not. How can I fix this?
I bought a 07 Ford Focus with 10k on it from a Chevy Dealer. When I bought it they added a GE Auto Warranty (5yr or 100k) with it which cost $1150. This warranty covers only the engine, transmission and drive axles. It has a $200 deductible. Did I need to get this or should their have been a warranty that already existed with this car from the original owner since it is fairly new? I am not sure if I made the right move. I bought it 2 weeks ago and am now making payments. What can I do or is it too late?

I did'nt buy 1 from the dealer becasue i did'nt want my car payment to go up anymore. I pefer now to just pay for a extended warranty in full rather month to month. My question is where is the best place/company to buy a warranty from as far as price, customer service, roadside service, rental car assistant, dependability and reliability? I know on my last car i brought a warrany from ge auto warranty and they were excellent as far as repairing my car.
