I have a Nissan Sentra and getting the code p1612?

I believe it is a 2000 model. Before I bought it, it was wreck into a telephone pole but everything is fixed now except there is no air bags on the steering wheel or on the passenger side. I know they had to take the censor for the air bags out. It ran really well for a while with no problems then one day I started it up and it just shut off. It will start up but then will slowly die within a matter of seconds. We put it on a computer and it gave the code p1612. I looked it up on the internet and it said something about the NATS (Nissan Auto Theft System) but I don't know what it means or how to fix it. Please don't reply if you don't know what you are talking about. I need to know how to fix it.

P1612 is Nissan Imobilizer code or NATS "chain of IMMU" check fuse 36 (10amp) out near the battery in fuseable link box. If that does not do it then you will have to gather up all your square black headed keys and tow it to the dealership or have a computerized lock smith reintroduce the keys to the car. The car is detecting a problem with the key or is not seeing the key to allow the car to turn on the fuel system. After 4 attempts with a bad or non programed key the car will enter lock mode. Good luck
