Credit Cards For Christmas Joy
Surely one can come up with better names than calling them a mere "credit" card. Since they alter our lifestyle, probably that is what we should name them after. Because credit cards do tend to have a lifestyle altering effect.
A sudden need to spend is the most common use of plastic currency. That is where a common application of credit cards is in the form of Christmas shopping. When you are trying to spread that holiday cheer, it sure helps when you have a line of credit in your pocket.
But it is more than that. If you look at all the promotions that are prevalent around Xmas time, you will see that there is more to it that just a line of credit. For instant, given the higher spends that issuers expect, they routinely provide extra Christmas benefits, such as cash back deals, extended warranty coverage programs, extra mileage points and reward programs.
All over the world people celebrate this way. The US naturally leads in consumer spending. But other countries, for example, Australia, also have amazing deals on credit cards during Christmas.
Do not worry, I am not going to leave you high and dry. I will explain this idea better. You have to buy last minute gifts. There are 3 modes that you would use. First off, there is the option of Online Shopping. I especially like the reputed online sellers that guarantee pre-Christmas delivery. Naturally, as expected, you typically need a credit card to make these payments online. There are other payment options, but they too tend to be linked to your credit card.
The cyber world may be on the ascent, but people still go to stores, so that constitutes the second way of shopping. That is the age-old method of shopping joy, around the year. During festival season, in-store shopping can be a little trying on all of us. That is because; there is all that rush and the checkout counter queues, not to mention the gift-wrapping station queue.
And then there is the last option that no one can really understand. This entails stuff like, mail order, telephonic-order, convenience store, etc. kind of shopping. Once again, the ubiquitous credit card comes into picture.
There seems like no way of getting around this truth. It seems like there really is no Christmas without credit cards. I know that sounds like the height of consumerism right there. But, I am not market-prude. I think that responsible usage of credit cards is one of the greatest instruments of consumer joy.
And what better time to exercise this joy, than in the season of joy? So, when Santa Claus comes calling, make sure to keep all that plastic lined up. If that little remote controlled helicopter costs a little more than expected, make sure to traverse the difference on your plastic money and spread the holiday cheer.
And do not forget the underprivileged when it comes to celebration. Use your plastic currency to make a donation And so that this does not make a big dent in your December budget, you can use your plastic currency and ensure that you can pay in easy installments.
All of my enthusiasm should not be mistaken to condone irresponsible credit usage. Money does make the mare go. So, let us not lose site of that.

Credit cards come in all shapes and sizes. But I would only go in for a low interest credit card. And frankly I cannot see why you would do anything differently. Come to use for all types of plastic money, including Platinum credit cards.
Diesel Mechanics: in a Ford 6.0 Diesel, is the high pressure oil pump part of the long block assembly?
We got our high pressure oil pump replaced in our 03 Ford 6.0 Powerstroke Diesel. (terrible engine by the way). It cost nearly $5,000. Luckily, we had an extended warranty coverage that said the oil pump was a covered component. Then at the end of the disclaimer it mentioned that all parts must be a part of the long block assembly. They are now refusing to cover anything. I need to know if that HPOP was a part of the long block assembly, and how to prove it (schematic drawing, write up from a certified diesel technician, etc.)

Can I get Apple to swap my iPhone 3G for a new 4G for free?
I've heard that Apple will replace with the latest model phone. But how do I get them to replace my phone? There's nothing really wrong with it but I'd like the 4G. I guess I could pay for the upgrade but I really don't want to extend my contract...and plus, I feel like the frustration and crappy service from AT&T has earned me a freebie! Do I need to call Apple and report it as lost or stolen? I've had the 3G for almost 2 years now and I didn't buy the extended warranty coverage, can I even get a free replacement?

How much force must be applied to damage an LCD tv screen and will the effect be immediate?
Here's the background. We bought a 46 inch LCD tv less than a year ago. The manufacturer has declined warranty coverage as they say the screen is cracked on the inside. One of our children admitted "touching" the screen a few weeks prior while playing a video game. A different child was playing a video game immediately before the tv stopped working. Does it take a significant degree of force (or only a small amount) to damage an LCD screen and would the tv have stopped working fairly immediately if this was the case (points to child #2) or could it have been fine for a few weeks then stopped (points to child #1)?

Schumer Urges Inquiry of Companies Behind Bogus Auto Warranty Calls
11 May 2009 at 12:00am Senator Charles E. Schumer has never struggled to find a reason to hold a news conference on a Sunday. But the inspiration for the one on Mother's Day arrived unexpectedly, when the senator's cellphone rang during a health care meeting on Capitol Hill last week. ''You are still eligible to reactivate warranty coverage,'' said the recorded voice on...Read more...
